Who are the Friends of the Library?
The Friends of the Library are a group of volunteers who work to strengthen the Library’s resources and provide additional services designed to better serve the public.
When are Friends of the Library Meetings?
Meetings are held on the 2nd Thursday of every month at 10 AM. The next meeting is Thursday, February 12.
What services have the Friends of the Library provided?
- Sponsored the purchase of a number of the Library’s museum passes
- Sponsored visits by children’s authors David Adler and Johanna Hurwitz
- Sponsored visits and luncheons featuring authors Eleanor Kuhns, Christina Baker Kline, Natalie S. Harnet, Christopher Bollen, Greer Hendricks, and Elyssa Friedland
- Purchased a LCD Flat Screen Monitor for the Library’s vestibule
- Purchased a Smart TV for the Children’s Craft Room
- Donated prizes for the Summer Reading Clubs
- Sponsored bus trips to the Hunterdon Hills Playhouse, Culinary Institute of America, and Northport Playhouse
- Donated a whiteboard and signage to the Library
- Donated an HD projector for the Meeting Room
How do the Friends of the Library raise necessary funds?
In order to raise the funds needed for their programs and services, the Friends of the Library have organized a series of successful book sales and bus trips. In addition, they have also sold raffles at the Lion’s Club and Kiwanis Street Fairs.
